Hello and welcome to my site.  My name is Kathy McClain and my family and I reside in Jones, MI.  Jones is a very small town Southwest of Kalamazoo, MI.  My family consists of my daughter K.C.  and I and our poms.  I am a small "kennel" and my poms run free in my home.  Minnie and Wyldor are living with Grandma now, she was lonely for a couple of furkids :).

My interest in poms began as a child.  My parents adopted a pom girl named Ginger.  She lived to be 17 yrs old.  She was a red sable pet quality pom that I grew to love as my sister.  Shortly before Ginger passed, I adopted my first boy Bear.  He is my son regardless of what people say as they snicker.  As I read books and talked to breeders and show handlers about the possiblities of showing or breeding poms, I came to realize that Bear was not quality enough to do either.  So I had him neutered.  He has had several health problems since, so I thank God that I did.

After attending some shows and doing more research, I knew that I wanted to start showing and breeding in a way to help improve the breed.  Along the way I met a wonderful friend Kelley of Petite Acres.  She has taught me a lot.  I will be the first to say that I don't know everything and that I never will, but I'll try :)  Kelley introduced me to Dianne of Heartland Pomeranians, who after talking to her several times via e-mail and on the phone, allowed me to adopt my first brood Chrissy.  She was a true pleasure to have.  Kelley also introduced me to Donna of DeJay Pomeranians, who has been another helpful teacher and whom I've attended shows with.  Then, Kelley introduced me to Sandy Resterhouse.  After a few phone calls, I adopted my first show boy, Valor.  He was my clown and I love him dearly.  So I guess what I'm saying is that I owe my start to Kelley for taking the time to show me the ropes and introduce me to others that were willing to take the time to know me and help me.  Thank you Kelley!!!  I've found that in poms, it's hard to gain others trust and I hope to never let anyone down, especially myself.  Also, thank you to all that I haven't mentioned...for there are many.

Thank you for visiting my site and I do hope that you will sign my guestbook and come back for updates.  If you have any questions, e-mail me and I will get back to you asap.

Thanks,
Kathy
